About Braw Media
Braw Media is a digital media and events company run by Magnus Orr and based in Edinburgh. Apart from being a keen piper and helping organise large scale pipe band events, Magnus is an experienced and resourceful digital media developer – with a track record of taking projects from concept to delivery.
2017 – developing new apps to help promote and make it easier to learn minority languages.
2014 – Pipefest Stirling – celebrating Homecoming and marking the 700th Anniversary of the Battle of Bannockburn. Over 1,600 participants took part. Supported by EventScotland and The Famous Grouse Experience.
2013 – developed ComposerBase – an innovative sheet music app – providing a great way to view sheet music on your iPad.
2012 – launched the first GPS enabled Robert Burns app on the bard’s birthday – helping locate landmarks around the World.
2012 – on behalf of Perth & Kinross Council, organised the Diamond Jubilee Parade featuring 1,000 pipers and drummers.
2010 – organised the Pipefest Global Challenge – thousands of pipers and drummers travelled to Edinburgh to take part and raise money for cancer care. On the same day players took part at seven different locations around the World, including the flight deck of the USS Intrepid.
2009 – in collaboration with Glasgow Caledonian University, Momedia created an innovative indoor location aware prototype using RFID.
